Time Travel on London Street is the title of two blogs that we have written for Reading Museum.
Part 1 starts with the construction of London Street in the twelfth century and focusses on 35-39 London Street which is now the home of the Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC).
Part 2 brings the story of the street right up to date including the designation of the Market Place/London Street conservation area in 1972.
Historic images from the Reading Museum and Reading Library collections illustrate the articles.
