The Russell Street/Castle Hill Conservation area was the second of Reading’s 15 conservation areas that we reviewed. The revised appraisal included a significant extension of the area along Oxford Road as well as other additions. As a result of this it was renamed the Russell Street/CastleHill/Oxford Road Conservation Area and the revised appraisal was adopted by Reading Borough Council in April 2020.
